Invited Competition
The new Scottish War Blinded Linburn Replacement Facility must have both historic and contemporary relevance and in particular reflect the organisation’s current identity and future aspirations – it will be a symbol of ambition for the future.
Our approach to the project involved a considered analysis of the site, the client organisation, the building functions and special requirements of the visually impaired. The brief also demanded that the design responded to the strong military connections of the users whilst also serving their future needs.
Our response was a low, flexible building set within the existing landscape, with an elegant light engineered floating roof which extended out over the building.
