Andrew Burridge BA(Hons) Dip Arch ARIAS RIBA
Andrew began his career delivering educational projects for the GLC. This covered a range of improvements and major maintance projects including refurbishing school laboratories in Hackney and replacing all the windows to a 1960s Special Needs school in Dulwich. Since then he has gained a wide range of experience in both the public and private sectors.
He has worked as an architect & technical coordinator with various large, multi-disciplinary teams on complex buildings including new office buildings in the City of London – Alban Gate & Deutsche Bank HQ – and office fit-outs for Hill Samuel Management Investment and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. He has also been responsbile for other high specification projects such as the new build and interior design of the British Amassador's Residence in Jakarta, office fit-outs for SKM Anthony Hunts and the interior design of the Taste Good restaurant.
Andrew has also carried out a number of projects for Universities in Edinburgh. These include refurbishment and upgrading contracts at the Merchiston and Craiglckhart Campus as well as the Screen Academy for Edinburgh Napier, the proposed new laboratory and office building for Fugro EMU at Heriot Watt Science Park and the refurbishment of mechanical engineering laboratories at Heriot Watt University as well as involvement with a number of projects at the University of Edinburgh.
Andrew is a skilled and innovative designer, he has a natural affinity with materials. Throughout his career Andrew has taken an active interest in sustainable design - as a student he won the British Gas sponsored Design 88 architecture competition for energy conservation through to the more recent winning design for an exemplar sustainable house for Scotland's Housing Expo.
